Hair Loss Treatments for Men

No man wants to hear the words ¨Hair Loss Treatments¨, but more and more often these days it is a must if you want to keep what is left of the hair on your head. And while for some the fear of looking older than your years due to the hair loss is overwhelming, for others it is simply a marking for the passage of time. But regardless of how you look at it you will most likely need to find out more information about what types of treatments are out there and which is best for you.

However, all too often people jump on the first miracle cure for baldness that they find only to discover it just doesn’t work. The reason for this is because there really is no cure for going bald. And while there are things you can do to help prevent and slow down the process you will never be able to make it go away once it begins. So while you are searching for answers why not take a gander at the information below.

Tips for Male Hair Loss

When your hair is going thin you will want to do all that you can to make your great facial features shine through. Not only does this help take the spot light off your hair but it also makes you feel much better. The best way to do this is to go to your local store and pick up some good skin care products to help make your skin look as healthy as can be.

Why not try a whole new look. This is another great way to help take the focus off your hair loss and onto all the other great parts of who you are. Try changing your wardrobe and try some great new male hair styles. Not only does this help you look more attractive but it really boosts your confidence. Getting a short cropped cut works best or even shaving it off completely is what some men prefer.

Hair Loss Medications

While there are not many types of medications out there that really work there are two that seem to be quite effective on the process of balding. One of them is called Finasteride and the other is Minoxidil (Rogaine).

Finasteride is a medication that works to block the 5-Alpha reeducates and in do so it stops the enzymes from turning you testosterone into DHT. DHT is the substance that causes male pattern baldness. This is the only medication that has had instances where balding has been reversed.

Minoxidil (Rogaine) is a drug that is not quite as effective as it only seems to work with about 25% of the men that u se it. You are to use it twice per day and it will only work if it is applied every day.

Other Hair Loss Procedures

There is now a surgical treatment out there that is what is known as hair transplants. This is where small plugs of hair are taken from the back or side of your scalp and then transplanted to where you are balding.

Scalp reduction is another type of hair loss treatment. This procedure has the loose skin on your scalp surgically taken off and then your hair is pulled down on the side of your head. This procedure also helps reduce many wrinkles on and around your forehead.

Just remember in the end that when all else fails you can always shave it all off. Too often you find men afraid to be that bold, but when they do the results can be amazing.
